Meet the Team
Jack Meeks, CPA, CFE, ASA, ABVAs President of Jack Meeks & Associates, CPAs, LLC, Jack has advised hundreds of Jacksonville’s citizens and businesses over a career spanning more than 40 years. A Northeast Florida native, Jack is a CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), is accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) as well as a practicing Receiver and Expert Witness.
Jack has the experience to simplify complex financial information. His area of emphasis since 1988 has been expert witnessing – analyzing the financial aspects of, and giving testimony in legal cases involving business or personal damages, eminent domain and fraud. He has been called to witness in court more than 25 times, has been deposed more than 60 times. He assists litigators representing individuals, businesses, and corporate or government entities in any financial dispute. Jack is also trained and practiced in assessing business values for the purpose of sale or purchase.
In the early part of his career, Jack worked in the Jacksonville offices of two of the field's elite accounting companies. As an Auditor at Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company (now KPMG Peat Marwick) Jack conducted audits for the firm's distribution and manufacturing clients. After completing his accounting degree at the University of Florida, Jack launched his career as a Staff Accountant at Arthur Young & Co. (which later became Ernst & Young). His early area of emphasis was audit.
Jack currently serves on the City of Jacksonville’s Downtown Investment Authority (DIA). He is the former Chairman of the Victims Assistance Advisory Council and a former member of the City of Jacksonville’s Ethics Committee.
Karen Conn, CFEChief Operations Officer
Karen is the Chief Operations Officer for Jack Meeks & Associates CPAs, LLC, and has been with the company since 1994.
As a Property Manager for a number of historic buildings in Jacksonville's Springfield neighborhood, Karen works with tenants and vendors to maintain the historic beauty of Springfield. She is instrumental in helping the Firm purchase, renovate and maintain the historic property.
The Firm works with attorneys, business owners and the courts on Receivership projects. Karen is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping for the Receivership, reviewing the books for fraud, maintaining and developing vendor and employee relationships, and working with the Receiver to either shutdown or sell the business.
Karen also works in litigation support for expert witnessing. She assists the expert witness with research, preparing documentation and financial schedules used in court testimony. She also manages the relationships and communications with the attorneys who hire the expert witness.
Karen is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Florida and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Charlotte CuddDirector of Marketing
As the Director of Marketing, Charlotte integrates her diverse background in marketing with the complex array of services provided by Jack Meeks & Associates, LLC.
Charlotte works closely with the legal and banking communities to address the value of a qualified Receiver as well as a Financial Expert Witness. She also assists Jack Meeks with research and preparing financial schedules used in court testimony.
Jack Meeks & Associates’ more recent passion has been in obtaining and restoring dilapidated historic buildings. Currently, the Firm manages 9 properties in Historic Springfield – residential and commercial. Charlotte is in charge of developing all marketing and promotion and assists with managing each property and its vendors. The Firm’s latest project taps into Downtown’s disappearing historic neighborhood. As one of the last original multi-family structures built during Jacksonville’s Renaissance, The Elena Flats will be brought back to its original glory sometime in 2017. Charlotte’s focus is not only on general rental promotion, but also in education. Jack Meeks & Associates is very passionate about doing one’s part to preserve historic structures and The Elena Flats is an example of how civic duty can focus on one small building and still have a major impact on the surrounding community.
Most recently, Charlotte managed data analytics for a multi-billion dollar e-commerce company. Prior to that she has been the marketing and brand manager for a tech startup, the logistics and events manager for a local non-profit and she has consulted in brand management, event planning, fundraising and grassroots campaigning.
